Butterfly heaven . . .

Butterflies are symbols of freedom, beauty, and love ... I want to eat lots, sleep awhile and wake up beautiful like a butterfly!

I love to spend time with my husband, my daughter, my grandchildren, and my great granddaughter. I also enjoy a cup of coffee or glass of wine with friends to "blow off steam"! Family and friends are the most important people in my life.

Blossoms at the new house . . .

Rhodos in full bloomWow, these rhodos are beautiful! We've been in the house for a month now and love everything about it. There's so much room and we're all unpacked, with pictures on the walls. The preparations for Rick's 50th birthday party are in full swing and we're looking forward to entertaining our friends and family in our new surroundings.

Temperatures are rising . . . hopefully the river isn't . . . too fast at least!

Temperatures are rising
With all the hype about the possibility of a repeat of the "Flood of '48" it is a bit disconcerting when the temperature starts to rise.

I'm trying to be positive and believe things will stay dry or at the very least, I'm playing ostrich and choosing to keep my head well in the sand at the moment. I'm heading into the summer believing our new home will be spared.

Charlie & Syd . . . friends?

Charlie and Syd having a discussion about who's boss
I don't think Charlie (the little fella) is too fond of Syd . . . the much larger, but younger fella. He spends most of his time growling at him when all Syd wants to do is play. I think Charlie has "short dog syndrome" . . . he's confused about his size. He has a very "large" growl . . .

We've had Charlie for about 2 months, he's a Shih Tzu/Yorkie cross, with a wonderful temperament when it comes to his "new parents". He's rather "standoffish" when it comes to strangers though. He loves Haley and Jay, as they were the ones that got us together when Jenni did fostering for the Animal Shelter. Charlie is 4 years old tomorrow, June 1st, and has settled in with us nicely.
